FAQs
Are Kista beds made to order?
Yes. Every Kista bed is handmade to order in Lancashire using FSC-certified European oak, traditional joinery, and British-made wool fabric by Abraham Moon.
How long will my order take?
Our current lead time is usually 1–2 weeks for construction of your bed. If you need a bed sooner than this, please get in touch and we’ll always do our best to help.
Do you offer delivery outside the UK?
At the moment, we deliver within the UK only. If you are based overseas, please feel free to get in touch and we’ll always do our best to accommodate where possible.
Does the bed arrive assembled?
The wooden bed frame arrives fully assembled. You simply place the cushion on top.
How do I choose the right size?
We recommend choosing based on your dog’s nose-to-tail length, weight and build, and how they like to sleep. If your dog is between sizes, long-bodied, or loves to stretch out, we would usually suggest sizing up.For more detail, please see our Sizing Guide. If you are unsure, just email us with your dog’s breed, weight and a photo and we’ll happily advise.
Are the breed examples exact?
No — breed examples are there as a general guide only. Dogs of the same breed can vary a great deal in size, shape and sleeping style.
What materials do you use?
Our beds are made from FSC-certified European oak and upholstered with British-made wool fabric by Abraham Moon. The timber is finished by hand using a pet-safe blend of tung oil and beeswax for a soft, natural matte finish.
How are the beds made?
Each bed is handmade in Lancashire using traditional joinery and glue rather than screws or nails. We make in small batches, with a focus on strength, longevity and repairability.
Can I choose a different fabric or timber?
Yes — if you are interested in alternative textiles, colours or timber options, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to talk you through what is possible.
Can the bed be repaired?
Yes. We offer a free repair service for the life of every Kista bed for any non-intentional damage. If a bed gets knocked, marked or damaged over time, we are always happy to repair it. We simply ask that customers cover the shipping costs to and from us. If your bed arrives damaged or faulty, we will cover all costs and arrange collection where needed.
Can I refresh the finish over time?
Yes. Every bed includes a small bottle of finish so you can refresh the timber over time if needed.
Is the cushion cover removable?
Yes — the cover is removable. We recommend spot cleaning only and do not recommend machine washing.
